you're not forgiven for your sins

2021. ~45-minute performance inside a war bombed church.

All I had was a long rope and black paint. The environment is a church in ruins, bombed during the war. I placed the chairs around me as all I needed was this audience of ghosts, of silent voices that have been echoing inside my brain all these years.

In this church I placed speakers that were playing in loop the words that are preached during the masses that used to brainwash me every Sunday at church.

I would then tightly wrap this rope around my body, paint with ink the few gaps between the rope where I could see my skin. After 40 minutes, as I take the rope off my body I can only see the marks that are left on me.
